| Silca Grate's™ secret is in the hexagon.
Honeybees rely on hexagons for their strength. And it is this naturally designed technology that has allowed us to create a super-strong substructure capable of supporting a surface of heavy materials. In fact, Silca Grate™ is so strong, it meets or exceeds both residential and commercial building codes.
Silca Grate™ is a 16" X 18 1/8" honeycombed tray made of durable 1 1/2" thick engineered polymer which is screwed directly to the top of the floor joists. Each Silca Grate™ grid covers 2 square feet. It is UV stable and easily cut to form. Its installation is as easy as putting 4 screws into floor joists spaced 16" on center. It's strong hexagonal cells provide a supportive sub-structure for elevated areas as well as ground applications.

| Silca Grate™ provides support every two inches, 360°.
The unprecedented strength results from the design of the 2" diameter honeycombs which offer 360 degrees of solid support, giving you considerably more muscle underneath your surface materials. These hexagon cells provide support every 2" in all directions. Compare that to lumber in traditional applications which typically span 16" - 24" between joists and offer only bi-lateral support.

Silca Grate™ (GREEN)
Ground Application - Made from 75% to 100% Recycled Plastic.
- 1. Paint lines or use a garden hose for ground layout.
- 2. Cut sod along layout lines.
- 3. Remove all top soil and sod (put in compost pile).
- 4. Add minimum of 1” #8 limestone as a leveling media.
- 5. Tamp limestone for compaction.
- 6. Install Geotextile blanket.
- 7. Install Silca Grate™ Green with T-locks on top of the Geotextile blanket (use multi-purpose plumbers glue or ABS glue or premium construction adhesive).
- 8. Install Geotextile blanket on top of the Silca Grate™ Green (ONLY if you are going to use Polymeric sand between the joints of your bricks or pavers).
- 9. Install bricks or pavers in any design your wife allows!
- 10. Sweep in the Polymeric sand, use a leaf blower to GENTLY blow the polymeric sand off the surface of the brick or pavers.
- 11. Lightly water mist (with garden hose) the polymeric sand, let dry. Repeat the mist process at least three (3) times.
